Surveillance State of the Day: That persistent paranoia that you’re being watched all the time? It’s justified.
According to documents leaked on Wikileaks, the U.S. government has cobbled together a new technology that siphons real-time data from surveillance cameras in stores, casinos, and other businesses around the country, then allows agents to use facial recognition software to analyze the footage for terrorists — or would-be terrorists.
The best part? Because the structure was more-or-less already in place, this has mostly happened under the radar of most Americans. So predictable.
