This is a good example of when someone looks too hard into something. Many comedians in general work with self-deprecating material. It’s funny to see someone take themselves down. Louis CK is a good example of this. He makes fun of his flaws, or exaggerates them, because it’s funny. He can laugh at himself.

Also, attractiveness doesn’t help a comedian. Comedians are the underdogs who couldn’t play sports, or weren’t popular in high school. Comedy was their ballpark. Being an overly-attractive comedian is almost anti-comedy. If the audience can’t relate, it won’t get laughs.
